Rugged 2" taps designed to discharge liquids from large metal, plastic or corrugated storage and shipping containers such as drums, bulk bins and IBC's (Intermediate Bulk Containers.) A unique processing and assembly method results in a smooth screwing action and accurate flow control, eliminating stiffness and leakage problems associated with large plastic lever faucets.
Available with 2" BSP/NPT thread, Drum Taps are injection-molded from FDA-certified HDPE and LLDPE materials and are suitable for a wide range liquid food and chemical products, and are particularly effective with viscous products such as adhesives and molasses. The Straight Through Tap features an entry port in line with exit port, allowing bottom discharge from floor-level containers, while the Drum Major Tap discharges downward at a right angle to the container's discharge port. A 2" fitment/gland and cutter adapter is available for bulk containers utilizing a flexible inner liner.
Additionally, these valves can be easily disassembled to remove impacted food and other particles, then re-assembled and returned into service. This 'break-down' feature eliminates potential contamination due to bacterial growth and also reduces costs associated with valve replacement.
